There’s nothing like a cute short dress for keeping cool on a hot summer day. Light pastel colors make it even easier to beat the heat, as to breathable natural fabrics. Luckily both of us found just such dresses this summer when shopping second hand.
Keeping an eye out for quality material is key to great finds while thrifting. Sometimes you almost have to look with you hands, not your eyes, feeling the weight and texture of the fabric. The difference between cheap “fast fashion” type fabrics and quality name brand and vintage pieces becomes clear very fast.
While there’s nothing wrong with taking home someone’s Forever 21 or H&M cast offs, when everything is so cheap at the thrift store, why not hold out for those Michael Kors or Banana Republic pieces instead?
