Thrifting the Trends: Oversized Open Knit Sweater

A lot of women avoid the oversized trend because they’re afraid it will make them look fat or frumpy. This is especially a risk if you’re not 5’11” and 120 lbs. For those who don’t have model proportions (and frankly, even for those that do), there are is one major rule to keeping an oversized sweater flattering: pair it with something form-fitting. For example, skinny jeans, leggings, or a tight skirt.

This trick works for more than just big sweaters of course. There are a lot of loose, drapey looks in street style galleries and magazine spreads these days. Pairing a loose piece with something tight ensures that one part of your outfit shows your real size, which would otherwise be hidden.
