Who doesn’t like polka dots? They’re bold, feminine, playful and versatile. So if you’re that weird one person who isn’t a fan, we’d love to meet you and have you explain yourself. Really though, we both find ourselves attracted to the bold pattern of polka dots (and stripes, actually) whenever we are out shopping second hand. But the dots alone aren’t enough, they have to be part of a good silhouette. And oh man, was this dress a good find in that department!
Perhaps even better than the dress itself is where we found it. If you follow our Instagram account, you may know that we took a trip to Ireland in July. Like on every trip we take, we had to make some time for thrift shopping. We found this dress in a fabulous vintage and antique store in Cork, Ireland. It was called The Vintage Hall Cork and it was also an adorable coffee shop – pastries and all! I don’t know the story behind this dress, but I like to imagine it made its way to the island from Spain, because of its slightly flamenco inspired shape.
I may not be going to any ferias or learning flamenco anytime soon, but I’m definitely going to find lots of reasons to wear this dress. It feels like a party just putting it on! And the fact that it photographs well doesn’t hurt either.
